PacWest Magazine, The Radio Show begins Monday on KUMU 1500 AM

HONOLULU, HI - The Pacific West Conference and KUMU AM-1500 The Team, Hawaii's Sporting News, will jointly launch PacWest Magazine, The Radio Show beginning Monday night, May 12, from the station's studios in Honolulu, HI.

PacWest Commissioner Bob Hogue, a veteran of more than 30 years in radio and television, is the host of the new prerecorded weekly show that will air from 7-8 p.m. every Monday.

The show, which showcases the great people and places around the Pacific West Conference, is a partner with the PacWest Magazine television program that aired this spring. The TV show will return this fall after a successful debut during basketball season.

"There are some great things going on in the PacWest and around NCAA Division II," Hogue explained, outlining the concept and development of the show. "And we want to put the people who make them happen in the spotlight."

Hogue hopes the show eventually will be syndicated to other markets where PacWest schools are located.

The PacWest is an 11-sport, eight-team NCAA Division II conference featuring four schools located in Hawai‘i (BYU-Hawaii, Chaminade, Hawai‘i Hilo and Hawai‘i Pacific), two in California (Academy of Art University in San Francisco and Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont), Grand Canyon University in Phoenix and Dixie State College of Utah.

The largest geographic Division II conference in the nation offers competition in the following sports: baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross county, men's golf, men's and women's soccer, softball, women's tennis and volleyball.
