Lucas Alves earns PacWest honor again
QUEEN CREEK, AZ - BYU-Hawaii sophomore center Lucas Alves (Casa Branca, Brazil/Colegio Avanqo Ensino Progranado) has been chosen the PacWest Player of the Week for the fourth time this year.
The honor is for games contested from Feb. 25-March 2.
Alves led the PacWest in scoring for the week, averaging 21.5 points per game. He shot 56.7% from the field (17 for 30) and pulled down 8.5 rebounds per game as the Seasiders clipped Hawai‘i Hilo twice.
He also averaged 2.00 steals per game.

Vince Alvarado (Victorville, CA/Silverado) - In three games during the week, the Hawai‘i Hilo senior guard averaged 15.7 points while shooting 54.8% (17 for 31) from the field.

averaged 16.0 points and 5.5 assists over two games for the
Argos...made 6 of 7 free throw attempts (85.7%)...made four
three-pointers during the week.
Jason Curtis (Landover, MD/Du Val) - The Hawai‘i Pacific junior guard scored 16 points vs. Hawai‘i Hilo to close out the season...made 6 of 11 shots from the field (54.5%), grabbed four rebounds and committed four steals.
Chris Edwards (San Francisco, CA/Jefferson) - The senior forward/center from Notre Dame de Namur averaged 14.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting 63.2% (12 for 19) from the field.
Hayden Heiber (Red Bluff, CA/Red Bluff) - The senior guard for Chaminade topped the PacWest in assists per game (7.50) while averaging 15.5 points, 3.0 steals and 6.5 rebounds.
Marko Kolaric (Novi Sad, Serbia) - The senior center from Chaminade led the PacWest in rebounding by averaging 15.0 per game last week...also averaged 11.5 points and 2.50 blocks per contest.

Silverswords.
Paul Peterson (Abilene, TX/Cooper) - The BYU-Hawaii senior guard averaged 18.0 points by making 9 of 10 field goal attempts from beyond the arc...shot 52.6% (10 for 19) from the field and 56.3% (9 for 16) from three-point land...also averaged 4.5 three-pointers made and 2.5 assists per game for the Seasiders.
Troy Randall (Salt Lake City, UT/East) - The senior from Dixie State led the Rebels by averaging 12.5 points per game while shooting 55.6% (10 for 18) from the field...also averaged 2.50 assists per game.
Kasey Winters (Mesquite, NV/Virgin Valley) - The Dixie State senior center averaged 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest over two games last week...led the Rebels to a 2-0 week, including a victory over PacWest Champion Chaminade...averaged 3.5 assists and 2.00 blocks per outing.
