Chaminade's Jamar Berry earns Player of the Week award
QUEEN CREEK, AZ - Chaminade junior guard Jamar
Berry (Tacoma, WA/Franklin) averaged a double-double
over three games to claim the Pacific West Conference Men's
Basketball Player of the Week award.
The honor was announced on Monday, Feb. 23, by the PacWest Media Office in Queen Creek, AZ, for games played from Feb. 16-22.
Berry averaged 18.7 points and 10.0 rebounds per game as the Silverswords posted a 2-1 week. He ranked third in scoring and first in rebounding in the PacWest during the week, while his 61.8% shooting from the field ranked him fifth in the league. He hit 21 of 34 field goal attempts, and averaged 3.00 assists and 1.00 steals per game.

game, second in steal average and ninth in scoring for the week in
the PacWest...shot 70% from three-point range (7 for 10)...ranked
second in three-point shooting for the week...ranked fourth in
three-pointers made per game (3.50).
Tsung-Hsien Chang - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., Yilan, Taiwan)...averaged 18.5 points per game in two road victories last week as the Seasiders clinched the PacWest title.
Noah Gottlieb - Chaminade (Jr., G, 6-0, 180, Los Angeles, CA/Venice)...averaged 14.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per game over a three-contest stretch last week...shot 56.5% from the floor (13 for 23)...ranked 12th in scoring, 14th in rebounding and seventh in shooting for the week in the PacWest...led the conference in assists per game (5.00) last week...averaged 1.00 steals per game.
Cliff Hodge - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., F, 6-4,
200, Lemoore, CA/Lemoore)...scored 22 points on 8 of
10 (80%) shooting in HPU's lone game of the week - a loss vs.
Chaminade on Feb. 18...shot 75% from beyond the arc (6 for 8)...led
the PacWest in shooting, three-point shooting a
nd three-pointers made per game (6.0).
Jeff Ingram (photo) - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., G, 6-4, 185, Queen Creek, AZ/Queen Creek)...scored 17 points and collected four rebounds in lone game of the week - a loss vs. Chaminade...was 3 for 3 from the line...ranked fourth in shooting for the week (62.5%)...made 5 of 8 field goal attempts...was 4 for 7 from beyond the arc (57.1%)...ranked fourth for the week in three-point shooting.
Ryan Sanchez - Dixie State (Sr., G, 6-4, 185, Ogden, UT/Fremont)...scored 12 points and collected nine rebounds on Saturday night in Dixie State's lone game of the week - a loss vs. BYU-Hawaii...handed out three assists and made all four of his free throw attempts in the setback.
Deon Sharps - NDNU (Sr., C, 6-8, 240, Fairfield, CA/Armijo)...averaged 18.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game as NDNU posted a 1-1 week...shot 70.8% from the floor (17 for 24)...ranked third in shooting, fifth in scoring and tied for 11th in rebounding for the week in the PacWest...averaged 1.00 blocks per game.
Nathan Sims - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., G/F, 6-3, 200, Sky Valley/Desert Hot Springs)...led BYU-Hawaii to a 2-0 week with a pair of victories on the road...averaged 10.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per contest...ranked second in rebounding for the week in the PacWest...averaged 1.50 steals per game (8th).

21...averaged 2.50 steals per contest...ranked second in scoring,
second in assists per game and third in steal average for the week
in the PacWest...hit 8 of 19 three-point attempts (42.1%)...ranked
second in three-pointers made per game (4.00) and ninth in
three-point shooting for the week.
Mohamed Tangara (photo) - Chaminade (Sr., C, 6-8, 250, Bamako, Mali)...averaged 17.0 points and 8.0 rebounds over three games last week...ranked sixth in scoring and fourth in rebounding last week in the PacWest...was perfect from the foul line - 21 for 21...shot 53.6% from the floor (15 for 28)...ranked ninth in shooting.
