HPU's C.J. Jackson earns PacWest Player of Week honor

PHOENIX, AZ - Hawai‘i Pacific senior forward C.J. Jackson (Buena Vista, GA/Tri-County) has been selected the Pacific West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Jan. 4, for games contested Dec. 28-Jan. 3.

Jackson guided the Sea Warriors to a 2-0 week by averaging a double-double with 17.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per contest. He led the league in collecting boards for the week and ranked fourth in scoring.

Jackson also ranked eighth in shooting for the week (71.4%) after draining 15 of 21 field goal attempts. He also posted 2.0 steals per contest (tied for 5th) and 1.5 blocks per game (tied for 4th).

Bennie Murray (right) - Notre Dame de Namur (So., 6-4, 160, G, Fairfield, CA/Will C. Wood)...scored 14 points and snagged nine rebounds in 70-69 win over Menlo (CA) on Jan. 1...contributed three assists, hit 3 of 4 foul shots (75.0%), and recorded three steals...also blocked two shots.

Donovan Plunkett - Dixie State (Jr., 5-11, 160, G, Oroville, CA/Las Plumas)...tied for fifth in scoring in the PacWest for the week by averaging 17.0 points per game...helped Dixie State to a 1-1 week...was 10 for 12 (83.3%) from the line...tied for eighth on the week...hit 57.1% (4 for 7) of his three-point attempts...ranked sixth in three-point shooting...tied for fifth in three-pointers made per game (2.0).

Marco Ramos - Grand Canyon (Sr., 6-6, N/A, F, Salinas, CA/North)...scored 14 points and shot 60.0% (6 for 10) from the field in 69-68 region win over Seattle Pacific on Jan. 2...tied for ninth in scoring for the week in the PacWest...also grabbed six rebounds, hit 2 of 3 free throw attempts (66.7%), and blocked a pair of shots...also had two steals and posted a 3.0 assist/turnover ratio.

Anthony Reilly - BYU-Hawaii (So., 5-10, 180, G, Valley Center, CA/Valley Center)...scored 18 points in Seasiders' lone game of the week - a 76-70 overtime loss vs. Chapman (CA) on Jan. 2...also contributed three steals and two assists...hit 2 of 3 three-point attempts (66.7%) and was 2 for 2 from the line.
