Vulcans' Justin Smith rides outstanding performance to Player
of the Week honors
PHOENIX, AZ - Hawai‘i Hilo senior forward Justin Smith (Los Angeles, CA/Reseda) has been named the Pacific West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Nov. 30, for games contested Nov. 23-29.
Smith led the Vulcans to a 2-0 week by averaging 21.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
He ranked second in scoring, fourth in rebounding, and eighth in shooting (70.4%) after making 19 of 27 attempts from the field.
He also tied for fourth in the PacWest for the week in blocked shots per game (1.0).

Austin Bryan - Dominican (CA) (Fr., 6-4, 190, G, Wenatchee,
WA/Wenatchee)...averaged 17.0 points per game, tying
for fifth in the league in scoring average during the
week...averaged 1.5 three-pointers made, 1.5 blocks, 3.5 assists
and 2.5 steals per contest...tied for fifth in the league in steals
per game and ranked third in blocked shots per game for the week.
Tsung-Hsien Chang (right) - BYU-Hawaii (So., 6-4, 190, G, Yilan, Taiwan/Sing Rong)...led the PacWest in scoring for the week by averaging 24.0 points per game...shot 52.2% from the field (16 for 29)...made 80% (12 for 15) of his free throw attempts...ranked 11th in shooting from the line and 14th in shooting from the field in the PacWest for the week...tied for fifth in three-point shooting for the week (50% - 4 for 8)...tied for fifth in steal average for the week (2.5 spg.).
Shane Hanson - Chaminade (Jr., 6-6, 230, F, Canyon Lake, CA/Temescal Canyon)...averaged 11.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in three contests against Division I foes Maryland, Vanderbilt and Colorado...tied for fourth in the PacWest in three-pointers made per game for the week (2.3).
Jeff Ingram (left) - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 6-4, 185, G,
Queen Creek, AZ/Queen Creek)...posted 16 points, four
assists and seven rebounds in 97-77 win over Western New Mexico on
Nov. 29...lone game of the week for the Sea Warriors...was 3 for 3
from the line...shot 42.9% from three-point land (3 for 7)...ranked
second in assist/turnover ratio (4.0) in the PacWest for the week.
C.J. Jackson - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 6-8, 265, F, Buena Vista, GA/Tri-County)...posted 17 points, four steals and eight rebounds in 97-77 win over Western New Mexico on Nov. 29 - lone game of the week for the Sea Warriors...tied for third in the PacWest in shooting for the week (77.8%)...made 7 of 9 field goal attempts...was 3 for 4 (75.%) from the foul line.
Mark Lewis - Dominican (CA) (So., 6-0, 175, G, Canyon Country, CA/Canyon)...tied for seventh in the PacWest in scoring for the week (16.5 ppg.)...ranked seventh in field goal percentage (71.4%) after making 15 of 21 shots...went 2 for 2 from beyond the arc.

Zach Robbins - Dixie State (Fr., 6-9, 210, F/C, Upland, CA/Upland)...averaged a double-double for the Red Storm in a 1-1 week...dropped 12.5 points per game while averaging 10.0 boards per contest...ranked second in rebounding for the week in the PacWest...tied for fifth in the league for the week in shooting (75.0%) after making 9 of 12 field goal attempts...made 7 of 8 (87.5%) free throw attempts to rank eighth in the league...topped PacWest in blocks per game (3.0).
