Andrew Bailey earns Player of Week honor

QUEEN CREEK, AZ - Grand Canyon senior forward Andrew Bailey (San Fernando, Trinidad/Naparima College) chalked up 12 points in two games last week to claim the Pacific West Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week award.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Queen Creek, AZ, on Monday, Sept. 29 for games played from Sept. 22-28.

Bailey scored five times during the two games while doling out a pair of assists. He scored one goal on a penalty kick and was credited with a game-winner.

Kyle Beck - Dixie State (So., F, 6-1, 150, Sandy, UT/Juan Diego)...scored a pair of goals in two games last week, including game-winner vs. Chaminade on Sept. 27...finished the week with four points.

Franco Carotenuto (photo left) - Grand Canyon (Jr., GK, 5-10, 180, Scottsdale, AZ/Chaparral)...posted a 2-0-0 week with a 0.00 goals against average in a pair of PacWest victories...recorded three saves in the two wins...turned in a shutout vs. BYU-Hawaii on Sept. 23.

Linus Edken (photo right) - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., M, 5-10, Lidkoping, Sweden)...assisted on both Sea Warrior goals vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on Sept. 27...HPU won the contest 2 -1.

Arturo Gomez - Notre Dame de Namur (Fr., M, 5-8, San Diego, CA/Castle Park)...led the Argos to a pair of PacWest victories over Chaminade and BYU-Hawaii last week by scoring three goals and totaling six points.

Cristobal Montes - Notre Dame de Namur (Fr., M/F, 5-9, Fremont, CA/John F. Kennedy)...totaled five points in two PacWest victories over Chaminade and BYU-Hawaii...had two goals and one assist...scored the game-winning goal vs. Chaminade...blasted home a goal and an assist vs. BYU-Hawaii.

Patrick Perkins - Grand Canyon (So., F, 6-0, 170, Bremerton, WA/Bremerton)...scored twice in two games last week to help lead the Antelopes to a 2-0-0 mark...finished the week with four points.

Dusan Radisavljevic - Grand Canyon (Sr., D/M, 6-1, 185, Belgrade, Serbia)...scored game-winning goal vs. Chaminade on Sept. 25...finished the week with a goal and two assists for four points.

Mark Rogers - Hawai‘i Pacific (Fr., D/M, 5-10, Pearl City, HI/Pearl City)...scored game-winning goal on Sept. 27 vs. Hawai‘i Hilo in a 2-1 Sea Warrior victory...broke a 1-1 second-half deadlock.

Nick Sykes - Grand Canyon (Fr., F/M, 6-0, 180, Meridian, ID/Mountain View)...scored a pair of goals in two games last week to help lead the Antelopes to a 2-0-0 mark...finished with four points.

Antonio Valera - Grand Canyon (Fr., F/M, 5-9, 160, San Luis, AZ/San Luis)...posted a goal and two assists vs. Chaminade in an 8-1 GCU victory on Sept. 25...finished the game with four points.
