Franco Carotenuto claims PacWest honor again

QUEEN CREEK, AZ - Grand Canyon junior goalkeeper Franco Carotenuto (Scottsdale, AZ/Chaparral) registered 200 minutes without giving up a goal to earn the Pacific West Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week award for the second time this year.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Queen Creek, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 6, for games played from Sept. 29-Oct. 5.

Carotenuto posted a 1-0-1 record for the week with two shutouts and nine saves. He now has recorded 380:08 of consecutive shutout minutes in net for the Antelopes.

Keenan Ho - Chaminade (Fr., F, 5-8, NA/Saint Louis School)...scored Chaminade's lone goal vs. BYU-Hawaii in a 2-1 PacWest loss on Oct. 4.

Carlos Lopez - Notre Dame de Namur (Sr., M, 5-6, Santa Monica, CA/Santa Monica)...scored insurance goal for Argos at Dixie State on Oct. 3...finished week with two points.

Adam Maciejewski - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., M, 6-0, 190, Hamburg, Germany)... scored game-winning goal vs. Chaminade on Oct. 4 in a 2-1 PacWest victory.

David Meherg (photo) - Notre Dame de Namur (Fr., GK, 6-2, Bremerton, WA/Olympia)...registered a 0-0-1 mark while splitting time in net with teammate Sheldon Steenhuis...posted a 0.00 goals against average in 110 minutes of action over two games...recorded four saves.

Bryan Neal - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., M, 5-10, 195, Yakima, WA/Eisenhower)...had a goal and an assist for three points during the week...recorded an assist on a game-winning goal vs. Chaminade on Oct. 4...scored lone goal vs. Academy of Art.

Brian Noguera - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., M, 5-10, 165, Provo, UT/Sacred Heart)... registered a goal and an assist...totaled three points during the week...recorded an assist on game-winning goal vs. Chaminade on Oct. 4...scored lone goal vs. Academy of Art on Sept. 29.

Sheldon Steenhuis (photo) - Notre Dame de Namur (So., GK, 6-2, Morgan Hill, CA/Live Oak)...posted 1-0-0 mark while sharing netminding duties with teammate David Meherg...recorded a 0.00 goals against average in 90 minutes of action...turned in two saves...claimed victory at Dixie State.

Chad Thompson - Chaminade (Jr., F, 5-6, NA/Waimea)...scored Chaminade's only goal vs. Cal State San Bernardino in a loss on Sept. 29.
