Jim Terry chosen PacWest Player of Week

PHOENIX, AZ - Hawai‘i Pacific senior midfielder Jim Terry (Honolulu, HI/Saint Louis School) has been selected the Pacific West Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Sept. 14, for games played Sept. 7-13.

Terry was outstanding in the Hawaii Cup Challenge over the weekend, leading the Sea Warriors to the island championship. He scored the game-winning goal and had an assist during a 3-1 semifinal victory over Chaminade on Sept. 11. In the title contest on Sept. 12, he set up the game-winning goal with a crossing pass during a 1-0 victory.

Terry finished the week with four points on a goal and two assists as the Sea Warriors registered a 2-0-0 mark.

PacWest Men's Soccer Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll

Sam Akina - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., 5-10, 170, F, Haiku, Maui, HI/Maui)...scored two goals and totaled four points in 5-3 BYU-Hawaii win over Chaminade on Sept. 12...victory occurred in the consolation game of the Hawaii Cup Challenge...credited with game-winning goal.

Matthew Carlson - Dominican (CA) (Fr., 6-4, n/a, F, San Diego, CA/Mira Mesa)...posted a 2-0-0 mark during the week for the Penguins...dialed up a pair of 2-1 victories in net over Cal State East Bay and Oregon Tech...recorded seven saves in 180 minutes of action with a 1.00 goals against average.

Kyle Ciliento (right) - Grand Canyon (Fr., 5-10, 168, F, Phoenix, AZ/Pinnacle)...tallied two goals and posted four points in GCU's 3-2 victory over Mesa State on Sept. 11...drilled a penalty kick on his first goal.

Frankie Diaz (left) - Academy of Art (Jr., 5-11, 170, F, Tracy, CA/Tracy)...scored pair of goals on Sept. 12 in 4-1 Urban Knights victory over Bethany (CA).

Pedro Guevara - Dominican (CA) (So., 5-5, n/a, M, Santa Rosa, CA/Montgomery)...scored both goals, including the game-winner, in a 2-1 Penguin victory over Cal State East Bay on Sept. 7...finished the week with four points.

Shaine Huiberts - Dominican (CA) (Jr., 6-0, n/a, F, San Juan Capistrano, CA/Dana Hills)...scored game-winning goal in the 72nd minute in a 2-1 victory over Oregon Tech on Sept. 10.

Vincent Muscarella - Hawai‘i Hilo (So., 5-8, 160, F, Camarillo, CA/Newberry Park)...scored game-winning goal vs. BYU-Hawaii on Sept. 11 in semifinals of Hawaii Cup Challenge...Vulcans won the contest 1-0.

Jordan Royla nce - Dixie State (Fr., 5-9, 150, F, Smithfield, UT/Sky View)...tallied game-winning goal vs. Northwest Nazarene on Sept. 12 in 2-1 Dixie State victory.
