Ben Paneccasio earns PacWest Player of the Week honor
PHOENIX, AZ - Grand Canyon junior goalkeeper Ben Paneccasio (Sydney, Australia/Rosenban K College) has been named the Pacific West Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 5, for games played Sept. 28-Oct.4.
Paneccasio produced a 3-0-0 week with three consecutive shutouts in conference play. He posted a 3-0 blanking at NDNU on Sept. 28 and a 1-0 victory at Dominican (CA) on Sept. 30 before returning home on Oct. 3 to shut out BYU-Hawaii 1-0 in double overtime.
Paneccasio was credited with six saves on the week in 282:23 of action. His scoreless streak surged over 300 minutes on Saturday to 3:05:56.

Kyle Ciliento - Grand Canyon (Fr., 5-10, 168, F, Phoenix, AZ/Pinnacle)...recorded five points on two goals and one assist during the week...led Grand Canyon to a 3-0-0 mark in conference play during the stretch...scored the game-winning goal in double-overtime vs. BYU-Hawaii on Oct. 3...assisted on the game-winning goal and scored an insurance goal vs. NDNU on Sept. 28...finished game with three points.
Cory Cosgrove - BYU-Hawaii (So., 6-0, 170, GK, Highland, UT/Lone Peak)...redirected 6 of 7 shots on goal in a tough 1-0 twin-overtime loss vs. Grand Canyon on Oct. 3...shut out the powerful Antelopes for more than 102 minutes before GCU finally kicked in the game-winner.

CA/Tracy)...recorded three points on a goal and two
assists in 3-0 Urban Knight blanking of Dixie State on Sept.
28...scored game-winning goal just over three minutes into the
contest...added an assist on insurance goal that gave AAU a 2-0
lead.
Eduardo Gutierrez - Hawai‘i Hilo (Jr., 5-8, 140, F, Azusa, CA/Azusa)...scored the game-winning goal on Oct. 3 vs. Chaminade in a 2-0 victory...tallied the unassisted goal with just over two minutes left in the first half...it marked his fourth goal of the 2009 campaign.
Dane Kaylor - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 6-1, 195, GK, Huntingdon Beach, CA/Edison)...repelled seven shots on goal vs. Chaminade on Oct. 3 to earn a 2-0 shutout victory...it was the Vulcans' lone game of the week.
Richard Luna - Academy of Art (So., 5-10, 160, M, South San
Francisco, CA/South San Francisco)...punched in an
insurance goal for the Urban Knights in a 3-0 victory over Dixie
State on Sept. 28...goal gave AAU a 2-0 lead in the opening minutes
of the second half.
Harvey Martinez (right) - Grand Canyon (Jr., 5-3, 135, F, Miami, FL/Coral Gables)...scored game-winning goal vs. NDNU on Sept. 28 in 3-0 Grand Canyon victory...his first goal of the season.
Joseph Mora - Notre Dame de Namur (Fr.-r, 5-10, 180, GK, Las Vegas, NV/Silverado)...earned the victory in net for the Argos in a 3-1 win over Dominican (CA) on Oct. 2...halted three of four shots on goal...it was just the second victory of his young career.
