NDNU's Arturo Gomez named Player of the Week

PHOENIX, AZ - Notre Dame de Namur sophomore midfielder Arturo Gomez (San Diego, CA/Castle Park) has been selected the Pacific West Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 19, for games played Oct. 12-18.

Gomez led the Argos to a 2-0-0 week by amassing six points on two goals and two assists. He registered four points on a goal and two assists vs. Hawai‘i Hilo in a 3-1 victory on Oct. 12. He tallied the game's first goal before helping set up the final two NDNU scores of the day.

On Oct. 14 vs. Chaminade, he was credited with the game-winning goal after giving the Argos a 1-0 lead in what became a 5-0 victory.

Chance Bukoski (right) - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., 6-0, 185, F, Lihue, HI/Kapaa)...tallied the game-winning goal for HPU vs. Dixie State on Oct. 12 in a 1-0 victory...game was the lone contest of the week for the Sea Warriors.

Pedro Guevara - Dominican (CA) (So., 5-5, n/a, M, Santa Rosa, CA/Montgomery)...posted four points on a goal and two assists during three games for the Penguins...had an assist on game's second goal in 2-0 victory over Academy of Art on Oct. 17...assisted on game-tying goal that forced overtime on Oct. 14 vs. UHH...Penguins lost 2-1 in the extra session...scored on a penalty kick vs. BYU-Hawaii on Oct. 12 in a 2-1 loss.

Shaine Huiberts - Dominican (CA) (Jr., 6-0, n/a, F, San Juan Capistrano, CA/Dana Hills)...scored both goals, including the game-winner, in a 2-0 victory over Academy of Art on Oct. 17...finished the game, and the week, with four points.

George Ichimaru - Hawai‘i Hilo (Jr., 5-7, 150, M, Volcano, HI/Waiakea)...scored game-winning goal at Dominican (CA) on Oct. 14 in 2-1 Vulcan victory...assisted on game's first goal...finished the week with three points on a goal and an assist.

Cristobal Montes - Notre Dame de Namur (So., 5-9, 150, F, Fremont, CA/John F. Kennedy)...led the Argos to a 2-0-0 week with victories over Hawai‘i Hilo and Chaminade ...registered six points on the week with two goals and two assists...scored game-winner vs. UHH in 3-1 win on Oct. 12...also had an assist...posted an assist and a goal in 5-0 victory over Chaminade on Oct. 14.

Jordan Roylance - Dixie State (Fr., 5-9, 150, F, Smithfield, UT/Sky View)...scored a pair of goals in 3-1 victory vs. Chaminade on Oct. 17 in 3-1 Red Storm victory...finished the game with four points.

Brandon Salvador (left) - Chaminade (Jr., 5-10, 165, D, Pearl City, HI/Pearl City)...recorded three points in three games during the week for the Silverswords...scored game-winning goal at Academy of Art on Oct. 12 in 4-2 triumph...added an assist in 3-1 loss vs. Dixie State on Oct. 17.

John Serrano - Notre Dame de Namur (Jr., 5-8, 160, M, Bakersfield, CA/West)...helped lead the Argos to a 2-0-0 week with victories over Hawai‘i Hilo and Chaminade...posted five points on two goals and one assist vs. Chaminade in 5-0 NDNU win on Oct. 14.

Matt Terry - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 6-0, 185, M, Honolulu, HI/Saint Louis School)...halted all six shots flung his way in 1-0 shutout at Dixie State on Oct. 12.

Collin Walch (right) - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., 6-0, 170, D, Scotts Valley, CA/Scotts Valley)...recorded game-winning goal at Dominican (CA) on Oct. 12 in 2-1 Seasider victory.
