BYU-Hawaii SID Scott Lowe adds softball coach to his title
Scott Lowe selected BYU-Hawaii head softball coach
Laie, HI - Brigham Young University Hawaii has appointed
Scott Lowe to be the new head coach of the women's softball team at
the school to replace Jackson Mapu, who retired this year after 10
seasons at the helm of the Seasiders.
Lowe will continue to serve as the school's assistant athletic
director and sports information director in addition to assuming
the softball duties.
Lowe, who has served as sports information director for the
Seasiders for the past 12 years and as assistant athletic director
for the last six years, played and coached fast-pitch softball at
the highest levels for many years prior to coming to BYU-Hawaii and
says he is excited to get back into the game.
"I am really looking forward to the challenge of building a
winning tradition in softball at BYU-Hawaii," he said. "I feel
we have a good nucleus of players returning this coming season and
can't get wait to get on the field with them."
At this point, no assistant coaches have been named, but Lowe said
he expects to fill out the coaching staff soon.
