QUEEN CREEK, AZ - Grand Canyon senior 2B Yasmeen Watkins (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope) was named the Pacific West Conference Player of the Week, while weekly Chaminade sophomore hurler Chelsi Walls (Stockton, CA/Riverbank) earned Pitcher of the Week honors for the first time this season.

(Player of the Week (April 6-12) - Yasmeen Watkins (left) - Grand Canyon (Sr., 2B, R/R, 5-6, Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope) - hit .538 in four starts, including a pair of victories vs. NCAA II power Humboldt State...w as 7 for 13 with two runs scored, one double, one triple and one homer...drove in seven runs...had a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .600 on-base mark.

Pitcher of the Week (April 6-12) - Chelsi Walls (right) - Chaminade (So., P, R/R, 5-6, Stockton, CA/Riverbank) - swept BYU-Hawaii on April 11...posted a 2-1 week with two starts and one complete game...tossed 12.2 innings of action...the lone PacWest pitcher to earn more than one victory during the week...also hit .556 in three starts, going 5 for 9 with two RBI...had a .556 slugging rate and a .556 on-base mark...dropped a pair of sacrifice bunts.

PacWest Softball Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll

Kahealani Alohikea-Betham - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., 3B/2B, R/R, 5-5, Mililani, HI/Mililani) - batted 600 in two starts...was 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles, four RBI, a homer and one run scored...walked three times and reached base after being hit by a pitch...had a 1.600 slugging rate and a .778 on-base mark for the week.

Breanna Egge (right) - Dixie State (So., C, R/R, 5-4, Las Vegas, NV/Centennial) - batted .600 in two games for the Red Storm...was 3 for 5 with two runs scored, three RBI, two walks and a home run...had a 1.200 slugging average and a .714 on-base rate.

Jessie Kaonohi - Dixie State (Sr., P, R/R, 5-7, Lancaster, CA/Antelope Valley) - tossed a five-inning, complete-game victory vs. Grand Canyon...allowed just three hits, one earned run and a 1.67 batting average...did not issue a walk...produced a 1.40 ERA.

Carli Leary - NDNU (Jr., C, R/R, 5-7, Oakmont, CA/H.S Not Available) - hit .455 in four starts by going 5 for 11...scored two runs, drove in one and smashed three doubles...walked once...registered a .727 slugging mark and a .500 on-base rate.

Ashley McFarland - Dixie State (Fr., IF, R/R, 5-9, Layton, UT/Layton) - hit .667 in two-game sweep of Grand Canyon...was 2 for 3 with five runs scored, a double, homer and two RBI...walked three times and dropped a sacrifice bunt...also stole a base...had an .833 on-base average and a phenomenal 2.000 slugging rate.

Dabney McIntyre - Dixie State (Sr., OF, R/R, 5-4, Taylorsville, UT/Taylorsville) - batted 571 in doubleheader sweep of Grand Canyon...was 4 for 7 with three runs scored, two RBI, a double and a homer...recorded a .571 on-base average and a 1.143 sluggin g percentage.

Kelsey Mendenhall - Dixie State (Fr., 3B/SS, R/R, 5-4, Tooele, UT/Tooele) - hit .667 in two-game sweep of Grand Canyon...was 4 for 6 with two runs scored and two RBI...walked once and stole a base...had a .714 on-base average and a phenomenal .667 slugging percentage.

Sherise Musquiz (right) - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., P, R/R, 6-0, Pico Rivera, CA/El Rancho) - recorded a 3-1 conference victory over Hawai‘i Hilo on April 12...tossed a seven-inning complete-game victory...scattered five hits, permitted one run and struck out one...did not allow a walk...Vulcans hit just .185 in the game...had a 1.00 ERA.

Haley Schumers - Dixie State (Sr., P/3B, R/R, 5-7, Plain City, UT/Fremont) - batted .500 in two starts for the Red Storm...was 3 for 6 with three runs scored, one double and one home run...drove in four other runs...walked once...had a .571 on-base rate...produced a 1.167 slugging average.

Amber Waracka - Hawai‘i Hilo (Fr., P, R/R, 5-9, Kahuluu, HI/Kamehameha-Kapalama) - recorded a 1-1 week in two starts vs. HPU...posted a 2.33 earned run average vs. the national power...tossed a complete-game victory...struck out four in 12 innings of action.
