Rosalyn Nelson wins 4th PacWest Player of the Week honor 

QUEEN CREEK, AZ - Grand Canyon sophomore guard Rosalyn Nelson (Phoenix, AZ/Deer Valley) has been chosen the PacWest Player of the Week.

The honor is for games contested from Feb. 11-17 and marks the fourth time this year she has been selected.

Nelson led Grand Canyon to a share of the PacWest Championship as the Antelopes posted a 3-0 week.

She averaged 20.0 points per game, shot 49% from the field (25 for 51) and averaged 6.0 rebounds, 5.67 assists and 3.67 steals per contest.

   

PacWest Women's Basketball Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll

Sheila Azevedo (Hilo, HI/Waiakea) - The Hawai‘i Hilo junior forward led the Vulcans by averaging 15.0 points and 8.5 rebounds over two games.

Jessica Carver (Layton, UT/Layton - photo) - The Dixie State junior forward averaged 10.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game (tops in the PacWest) as the Rebels beat Hawai‘i Hilo twice last week. She also led the league in blocked shots per game (4.0) and made 11 of 13 foul shots (84.6%).

Sara Dagliesh (Grangeville, ID/Grangeville) - The 6-foot-3 senior helped Grand Canyon to a 3-0 week by averaging 12.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. She shot 62.5% from the field, making 15 of 24 field goal attempts, and made 7 of 8 free throw shots (87.5%).

Richelle Fenenbock (Coeur d'Alene, ID/Lake City) - Despite an 0-3 week, the BYU-Hawaii freshman guard averaged 14.7 points per game and was perfect from the foul line (8 for 8).

Ashley Hardin (Chandler, AZ/Marcos de Niza) - The junior forward led Grand Canyon to a 3-0 week by averaging 13.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. She shot 53.3% (16 for 30) from the field and recorded 2.67 steals per game.

Ashley Jenkins (Ft. Washington, MD/Stephenson - photo) - The senior guard from Hawai‘i Pacific averaged 20.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game over three games last week as the Sea Warriors posted a 1-2 mark. She also averaged 4.33 assists and 2.33 steals per contest while shooting 83.3% from the foul line (15 for 18).

Jessica Jones (Sacramento, CA/Natomas) - The rookie guard from California led Dixie State to a 2-0 week by averaging 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest. She also led the PacWest in steals per game (4.50) and three-point shooting (50.0%), making 5 for 10 attempts from behind the line. She made 2.50 three-pointers per game and shot 54.2% (13 for 24) from the floor.

Tenaia Keyes (Seattle, WA/Ingraham) - The junior guard/forward led Notre Dame de Namur to a 2-1 week by averaging 13.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest. She also doled out 3.67 assists per contest.

Shayla Martinez (Las Vegas, NV/Durango) - The sophomore forward led Dixie State to a 2-0 week by posting 12.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

Samantha Murphy (Phoenix, AZ/Xavier Prep) - The freshman guard averaged 19.3 points and 2.67 three-pointers made per game as Grand Canyon secured at least a tie for first place in the PacWest. She shot 42.1% from beyond the arc, making 8 of 19 three-point attempts.
