NDNU's Laura Zasly earns PacWest Player of the Week award

PHOENIX, AZ - Notre Dame de Namur junior guard Laura Zasly (Foster City, CA/Aragon) has been named the Pacific West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Feb. 8, for games contested Feb. 1-7.

Zasly led the Argos to a 3-1 roadtrip through Hawai‘i by averaging 18.8 points, 3.5 assists, 2.3 steals and 7.0 rebounds per game - all while shooting 50.0% (28 for 56) from the floor.

She ranked sixth in scoring, 13th in rebounding, tied for 12th in shooting, tied for eighth in assist average and ranked eighth in steals per game for the week in the PacWest.

She also was ninth in three-point shooting (8 for 17) with a 47.1% average, while her 2.0 three-pointers made per game tied her for sixth.

Johnna Brown - Dixie State (Fr., 6-0, F, Las Vegas, NV/Centennial)...tallied 14 points and seven rebounds in big 93-88 triumph over Grand Canyon on Feb. 6...tied for ninth in shooting in the PacWest for the week...shot 55.6% (5 for 6) from the floor.

Deanna Daniels - Dixie State (Fr., 5-11, F, North Las Vegas, NV/Centennial)...posted 23 points and pulled down eight rebounds in crucial 93-88 win over Grand Canyon on Feb. 6...ranked third in scoring average and tied for 10th in rebounding for the week in the PacWest...also ranked third in shooting (75.0%) after making 9 of 12 field goal attempts...was 5 for 5 from the line.

Richelle Fenebock - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., 5-6, G, Coeur d'Alene, ID/Lake City)...averaged 15.3 points per game over a 2-1 week for the Seasiders...also handed out 3.3 assists per game...ranked 10th in assist average and scoring for the week in the PacWest...shot 91.7% (11 for 12) from the line...averaged 3.0 three-pointers made per game - good enough to tie for third in the league for the week...posted 2.0 assist/turnover ratio - tied for seventh on the week.

Kia Gibson - Grand Canyon (Jr., 6-0, C, Nine Mile Falls, WA/Lakeside)...shot 90.9% from the floor (10 for 11) to lead the PacWest for the week...scored 22 points in loss at Dixie State on Feb. 6...also pulled down 11 rebounds...ranked fifth in scoring and third in rebounding for the week in the conference...also blocked two shots.

Jessie Ingraham - Dixie State (Sr., 5-6, G, Tucson, AZ/Canyon Del Oro)...scored 22 points in key 93-88 victory over Grand Canyon on Feb. 6...6 for 6 from the line...drained 4 of 5 three-pointers (80.0%)...ranked fourth in three-point shooting for the week...also had three steals...tied for first in foul shooting, three's made per game, and steals per game for the week...ranked fourth in scoring for the week in the conference.

Genesis Lewis - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 6-0, F, Paramount, CA/Paramount)...scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds in lone game of the week - 68-62 victory over NDNU on Feb. 5...tied for seventh in scoring and tied for 10th in rebounding for the week in the PacWest...shot 55.6% from the floor (5 for 9) to tie for ninth...hit 7 of 8 (87.5% ) free throw attempts.

Samantha Murphy - Grand Canyon (Jr., 5-8, G, Phoenix, AZ/Xavier Prep)...rolled up 33 points to go along with four assists and six rebounds in tough 93-88 loss at Dixie State on Feb. 6...led PacWest in scoring for the week...tied for second in assist average...was phenomenal from the line (16 for 17 - 94.1%)...tied for 10th in foul shooting for the week...tied for first in steal average...posted three steals...recorded a 2.0 assist/turnover ratio (tied for 7th on the week in the PacWest).

Jessica Nolan - Academy of Art (Jr., 5-11, F, Adelaide, Australia/Hallet Cove)...led PacWest in rebounding for the week...averged 12.3 boards per game in 1-2 week for AAU...averaged 13.3 points per game...shot 56.0% (14 for 25) from the floor...ranked eighth in shooting.
