Natasha Aiono earns PacWest weekly award
QUEEN CREEK, AZ - BYU-Hawaii sophomore midfielder
Natasha Aiono (South Jordan, UT/Bingham)
blasted Academy of Art University with a hat-trick to lead the
Seasiders to a 5-0 victory over the Urban Knights and claim the
Pacific West Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week honor.
The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Queen Creek, AZ, on Monday, Sept. 15, for games played from Sept. 8-14.
Aiono scored her three goals on three shots and was credited with the game-winner as she tallied the game's first goal. She finished the contest with six points in BYU-Hawaii's lone contest of the week.

Ashley Dolan - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., D, Honolulu,
HI/Moanalua)...scored the game-tying goal vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on
Sept. 14 to force overtime...goal came on a penalty kick.
Tami Kalaiwaa - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., M, Kaneohe, HI/Castle)...scored the game-winning goal vs. Academy of Art on Sept. 11...goal provided the Sea Warriors with a 1-0 victory.
Adele Letro - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., F, 5-8, Davis, CA/Davis)...slammed home the game-winning overtime goal vs. Hawai‘i Pacific as the Vulcans claimed a 3-2 victory on Sept. 14...goal came just 1:11 into the first overtime session.
Emily Mearns - BYU-Hawaii (So., F, 5-6, San Ramon, CA/California)...assisted on a pair of goals vs. Academy of Art on Sept. 13...finished with two points in the contest as BYU-Hawaii claimed a 5-0 victory in its lone match of the week.
Megan Pachecano - Hawai‘i Hilo (Jr., F, 5-2, Pahoa, HI/Woodland)...scored twice vs. Hawai‘i Pacific in a thrilling 3-2 overtime non-league victory on Sept. 14...finished the game with four points...she now has back-to-back four-point weeks.
Becky Ploeger (photo) - BYU-Hawaii (So., GK, 5-5, Broomfield,
CO/Standley Lake)...had four saves in 87:12 of action
in net for the Seasiders...claimed the victory over Academy of Art.
Chelsie Sato - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., D, Kaneohe, HI/McKinley)...registered a 1-1 week for the Sea Warriors...had 12 saves and an .800 save percentage in 181:11 of action in net...produced 10 saves in tough 3-2 overtime loss vs. Hawaii Hilo...had two saves in shutout over the Academy of Art on Sept. 11...turned in a 1.49 goals against average for the week.
Margaret Sekona - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., F, 5-3, Juneau, AK/Juneau Douglas)...had her second four-point week of the season after producing a goal and two assists vs. Academy of Art University on Sept. 13...led BYU-Hawaii to a 5-0 win.
Gina Tumasone - Hawai‘i Hilo (Fr., F, 5-3, Newhall, CA/West Ranch)...assisted Megan Pachecano on both of her goals vs. Hawai‘i Pacific in a thrilling 3-2 overtime non-league victory on Sept. 14...finished the game with two points.
