Dixie State's Wendy Stratford claims PacWest honor

Dixie State's Wendy Stratford earns Player of Week 

QUEEN CREEK, AZ - Dixie State sophomore forward Wendy Stratford (Layton, UT/Layton) led her club to a 1-1 mark to earn the latest Pacific West Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week award.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Queen Creek, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 6, for games played from Sept. 29-Oct. 5.

Stratford finished the week with four points on a goal and two assists. She recorded all four points vs. Grand Canyon on Oct. 1 in a 5-0 victory, including the game-winning goal.

Natasha Aiono (photo) - BYU-Hawaii (So., M, 5-2, South Jordan, UT/Bingham)...set up teammate Britt Edman on game-winning goal vs. Chaminade on Oct. 4...had one assist in her lone game of the week.

Kelsey Baxter - Notre Dame de Namur (Fr., GK, 5-10, Pleasanton, CA/Amador)...registered a 1-1 week, including a 2-1 victory at Dixie State on Oct. 3...recorded nine saves during the week and posted a 1.00 goals against average in 180 minutes of action.

Candice Buckles - Grand Canyon (Fr., F, 5-10, Colorado Springs, CO/Fountain-Fort Carson)...scored game-winning goal vs. NDNU on Oct. 5 in a 1-0 Antelope victory.

Tessa Chesser - Grand Canyon (Sr., D/M, 5-6, Phoenix, AZ/Shadow Mountain)...recorded the assist on Candice Buckles' game-winning goal vs. NDNU on Oct. 5.

Britt Edman - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., F, 5-7, Salt Lake City, UT/Highland)...scored game-winning goal in 1-0 PacWest win over Chaminade on Oct. 4.

Erika Mouritsen - Dixie State (So., F, 5-9, Wellsville, UT/Mountain Crest)... posted three points for the week...scored a goal and added an assist for Dixie State vs. Grand Canyon on Oct. 1.

Sally Olsson (photo) - Notre Dame de Namur (Jr., M, 5-6, Hillsboro, OR/Century)...blasted a penalty kick goal against Dixie State on Oct. 3 to give the Argos a 2-1 victory...finished the week with a goal and two points.

Camille Peterson - Dixie State (Fr., M, 5-7, North Logan, UT/Sky View)...tallied two goals for four points on the week...scored game-tying goal vs. NDNU that Dixie State eventually lost 2-1...scored goal in 5-0 blanking of Grand Canyon.

Scottie Prince - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., GK, 5-8, Farmington, UT/Davis)...earned a shutout victory over Chaminade on Oct. 4...had three saves in 90 minutes of action as the Seasiders posted a 1-0 win.

Mikala Wilkes - Dixie State (Jr., M, 5-8, Cedar Hills, UT/Lone Peak)...scored a goal in Dixie State's 5-0 blanking of Grand Canyon on Oct. 1.
