Dixie State sweeps NDNU, will face Grand Canyon for 5th place
ST. GEORGE, UT - Dixie State College rolled to a 9-0 victory over Notre Dame de Namur on Friday afternoon to close out day two of the 2008 Hawaiian Airlines Pacific West Conference Women's Tennis Championship.
The Rebels will now take on Grand Canyon University on Saturday
afternoon at approximately 1:30 p.m. for fifth place in the
conference. The PacWest Championships are being held at the Green
Valley Resort & Spa in St. George, UT.
Lydia Hays, Ashley Lafeen and Brittny Roemer each won two matches. Hays claimed first singles and third doubles with Ashley Johnson, while Lafeen won second singles and partnered with Roemer for a victory at first doubles. Roemer was a fifth-singles victor.
Annie Salmon also claimed two victories, earning a second doubles win before outlasting Ashley Wilson of NDNU 6-7, 6-4, 10-4 at third singles.
